How to Find Any Tab in Seconds

Stop scrolling through your tab bar. Search all your tabs at once with one keyboard shortcut.

47 tabs open. One of them has that article you need. Good luck scrolling through them all to find it.

There's a faster way: search all your tabs at once with a keyboard shortcut. Here's how.

What you'll need

1 Install Daysift

Head to the Chrome Web Store and click "Add to Chrome." Takes about 10 seconds.

2 Press the shortcut

From any page, press:

⌘J Mac or Ctrl+J Windows

The search bar appears instantly, ready for your query.

Pro tip: The shortcut works from any tab, even if you're watching a video or filling out a form. It overlays on top of everything.

3 Type what you're looking for

Search by page title, URL, or keywords you remember. Results appear as you type.

Daysift searches both your open tabs and your recent history—so you can find pages you've already closed too.

4 Press Enter to open

Use to navigate results. Press Enter to open. Press Esc to close.

If the tab is already open, Daysift switches to it. If it's from history, it opens in a new tab.

Bonus: search your history too

The same shortcut searches your browsing history. Found that article three days ago but closed the tab? Just search for it.

The free plan keeps 14 days of history. Pro unlocks unlimited.

That's it

No more tab hunting. No more squinting at tiny favicons. Just:

  1. ⌘J
  2. Type what you want
  3. Done

Faster than scrolling. Every time.
